The Task - Minimising Disruption
With access limited – off the main entrance to school – keeping disruption to a minimum was a key challenge. To avoid lengthy traditional construction with multiple deliveries on site, S2e advised a modular building that could be completed off site and brought to us in a kit for quick assembly.
They used pad foundations to protect our mains gas supply, ensured fire safety given proximity to our main school building and designed a brilliant specialist teaching area.
The Solution – Fast and Effective
S2e provided full consultancy services from inception to completion, including feasibility, architecture and design, tender/procurement, cost control, appointing a contractor, project management, health and safety, mechanical and electrical engineering, and structural design.
Thanks to their knowledge of multiple construction techniques, excellent working relationship with the chosen contractor and ability to provide fast, effective professional advice, they leveraged their vast experience to quickly deliver our project within the limited school holiday period.
The Outcome - Secure and Inspiring Environment
S2e’s expertise has created a teaching and learning environment where our SEMH pupils can thrive. Their two new classrooms have accessible toilet facilities, level access for all, full air conditioning and climate control, and robust links to our main fire alarm system and IT infrastructure.
All in all, a wonderfully safe, secure and inspiring environment for young people.
