MAT & Academy Structural Engineering

Ensuring the structural integrity of your new buildings

As the name implies, a structural engineer is often required for larger, more complex projects such as new classroom blocks and extensions, to make sure it can support the weight of the materials and is structurally sound.

At S2e we have many years of experience working with engineers whose job it is to ensure the proposed structure is safe and supported correctly. The engineer will take into account all the materials to be used in the build, the location of the site, the weight of the build and then calculate exactly which supporting materials should be used.

The types of projects which require a structural engineer are:

  • Roofs

  • Steel floor beams and girders

  • Footings in clay or soft soil

  • Suspended concrete slabs

  • Reinforced concrete columns

  • Retaining walls
