Healthy Pupils Capital Fund UPDATE
Following our blog in June, there have been some updates to the Healthy Pupils Capital Fund (HPCF), to support the focus on healthy, active lifestyles for school children.
The fund has been incorporated into the annual Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) for one bidding round only, 2018-2019.
Those academies that are eligible to bid for funding through CIF will also be able to bid for funding from the Healthy Pupils Capital Fund via the CIF process with the same criteria applicable.
Multi-academy Trusts receiving School Condition Allocations (SCA), and therefore not eligible for CIF, will receive a direct allocation from the HPCF. This will be allocated in addition to the normal SCA and paid alongside it.
The £100m funding (down from £415m) for the HPCF, generated from the soft drinks industry levy, is intended to improve children and young people’s physical and mental health. It has been designed to enhance access to facilities for physical activity, healthy eating, mental health and wellbeing and medical conditions through the provision and / or improvement of kitchens, dining facilities, changing rooms, playgrounds and sports facilities.
New applicants have until 5pm on 30 November 2017 to register. The deadline for submitting applications is 12 noon on 14 December 2017 for all applicants.
Further information about the CIF and HPCF can be found here.
