Issues to address
We first appointed S2e in 2012 to help us secure funding, negotiate with contractors and project manage on site. Since then they have worked with us yearly to continue to transform the school. The school had a number of basic issues that needed addressing such as electrical, heating and window upgrades. We also were in need of a new sixth form block and our current changing rooms were in really poor condition.
Working together
S2e were able to secure all the funding for the projects and then manage them from start to completion. We now have a totally new sixth form block as well as outstanding changing room facilities. S2e were able to tap into the ‘Sport England Inspired Facilities’ funding to enable the refurbishment, meaning we didn’t have to compromise our CIF funding and could continue to invest in upgrading our school services as planned.
The Outcome
During the past 6 years the school has totally been transformed through a thorough and phased schedule of works. Aston Manor is now able to accommodate more sixth formers and ensure that all our students are able to learn and progress their education in a safe and fresh environment. We could not have undertaken this transformation over the years without S2e’s help.
