Peterborough Diocese MAT: Upgrades and Refurbishments to Enhance Learning
Upgrades and refurbishments to enhance learning
Timeline
August 2019: £52,000 4-week programme at Cottingham Primary School to upgrade toilets and prevent H&S risks
August 2020: £70,000 4-week programme at Greens Norton Primary School to refurbish classrooms and enhance learning
Issues to address
Our £650,000 SCA allows us to carry out work on around 20 primary schools every year, and S2e are invaluable in helping us prioritise our spend.
At Greens Norton Primary pupils and staff had been putting up for too long with a very rundown prefabricated classroom that was damp, draughty and peeling. School leaders knew they would perform so much better in brighter surroundings.
Dilapidated toilets at Cottingham Primary School made for miserable loo breaks for boys and girls alike … and if left for much longer, could have become dangerous.
Projects completed
On both projects S2e deployed their expertise to provide scoping and drawings, specify materials from windows to wall tiles to lighting, find the right contractors and manage each site from start to finish.
The Greens Norton prefab has had a facelift inside and out, from new cladding to bright ceilings and floors.
At Cottingham, pupils can now make use of really nice new cubicles and partitions, lighting, floors and sanitaryware.
The Outcome
S2e transformed the unsightly and run down Greens Norton prefab into a sparkling learning space where pupils can thrive.
Cottingham was a key project where S2e have helped us avoid a looming H&S issue and install shining facilities that are much appreciated by the children.
